[Andrew McGregor] It’s a beautiful sound … they just blend perfectly together … the timbre’s interesting as well. You’ve got countertenor Terry Wey on the top of the texture, and he’s a little bit of a magician with this kind of consort singing … the vocal control is quite remarkable.
[Anna Lapwood] The other thing I love about the sound that they make is that for me it was almost reminiscent of a viol consort or something similar, particularly when the bass entered. It’s got this sense of really singing through every individual line in an instrumental way as opposed to necessarily a singing way. It’s gorgeous.
