Originally from Great Britain, Nick Hayes studied clarinet and composition at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. Since then he has been a performer and a composer in many British music ensembles. As a workshop-leader he has led projects with school children, music students, adults and prisoners. He has worked for English National Opera, Almeida Festival, Orchestra of Ontario and Gothenburg Opera in Sweden. Nick currently lives in Brussels, Belgium, working as co-artistic director for ReMuA, an organisation which trains future workshop-leaders, and which gives an extensive programme of music-in-education and collaborative projects throughout schools and arts centres in Brussels, aiming to bring together young musicians and professionals.
