Marian Rian Hays performs chamber music, orchestral music, jazz, film, and musicals. She has performed at La Jolla’s Summerfest and Tijuana International chamber music festivals, and as principal harp at the opera festival in Graz, Austria. She has appeared at the Kennedy Center and The Phillips Collection.

She has made five recordings for Koch International Classics and was the soloist on the acclaimed world premiere recording of Menotti’s Cantilena y Scherzo for harp and strings. She has performed in world première performances including Dominic Argento’s Love and Angels, recorded at Washington National Cathedral, and Don McCullough’s work for harp and chorus, When Christ was Born.

Ms Hays has recorded several film scores including The Usual Suspects and Apt Pupil. She also played with Global Music winner Lori Bell on a jazz Christmas album and performed with the National Symphony Orchestra at Carnegie Hall. She is currently principal harpist with The Maryland Symphony and an active freelance musician.
