At home in the repertoire of the German Baroque, Amici Voices regularly perform Bach’s Christmas Oratorio, Mass in B minor and both Passions in their characteristic small-voice formation. Their first CD, of music from the time of the Battle of Agincourt, was recorded thanks to a generous grant from the Agincourt 600 Commemorative Fund and is available as a free CD or download from the group’s website.
Recent concert highlights include Buxtehude’s Membra Jesu nostri with St James’ Baroque, Schein’s Israelsbrünnlein at the St Albans International Organ Festival, Bach’s St John Passion with Northampton Philharmonic Choir and B minor mass with St Albans Chamber Choir, Rossini’s Petite messe solennelle with the Carillon Chamber Choir, performances of motets by J S and J C Bach in Slovakia, and Bach’s Jesu, meine Freude as featured performers at the London Bach Society’s 70th Anniversary Concert at St George’s, Hanover Square.
Amici Voices are extremely grateful for the support they have received from their audiences in Harpenden, Hertfordshire. The town has been a home for the group since its foundation, providing a vital local platform that has allowed its development from a young student group to the world of professional music making. They are particularly indebted to their principal sponsor, Dr Jan Telensky, and to The Williams Church Music Trust.
