This King's College School choir of girls and boys rehearses twice a week and sings concerts and services throughout the year. A famously happy school, it is situated across the river from King’s College and was originally founded to educate the boy choristers of the College Choir; these days there are nearly 400 boys and girls on its roster. It has a thriving and dynamic Music Department that enjoys a national reputation for the breadth and quality of its music. The majority of pupils learn at least one instrument, and there are many musical ensembles which meet weekly, from string quartets to brass bands and whole-year choirs. There is a regular programme of concerts and masterclasses that feature pupils in all year groups.
