Descalzo has been fortunate enough to study with excellent piano teachers such as Margarita Sitjes in Alicante, Alexander Hrisanide at the Sweelinck Conservatorium Amsterdam, Ana Guijarro at the Sevilla Music Conservatoire and Josep Colom at the Alcalá de Henares University.
Ricardo Descalzo’s current artistic focus evolves around an audiovisual project. The Contemporary Piano Video Library is based on contemporary solo piano repertoire recorded by Descalzo in Video HD and freely accessible to all. He is currently professor for contemporary piano repertoire at San Sebastian’s Musikene Conservatoire in the Spanish Basque country.
