Highlights of his career include the title role in Britten’s Owen Wingrave at the Aldeburgh and Edinburgh festivals, as well as for a film with Grange Park Opera, and roles as Gamekeeper in Rusalka (Dvořák) and Schaunard in La bohème (Puccini) for the Royal Opera House, Prince Arjuna in Philip Glass’s Satyagraha for the English National Opera, Figaro in Le nozze di Figaro (Mozart) for Glyndebourne, Gaveston in George Benjamin’s Lessons in love and violence at the White Nights Festival in Saint Petersburg, Demetrius in A midsummer night’s dream (Britten) for the Israeli Opera, Belcore in L’elisir d’amore (Donizetti) at the Verbier Festival, Pallante in Handel’s Agrippina for Brisbane Baroque and the Göttingen International Handel Festival, and Masetto in Mozart’s Don Giovanni for Angers Nantes Opéra.
Concert engagements have included the roles of Counsel for the Plaintiff in Trial by jury (Sullivan) at the BBC Proms, Mamoud in The death of Klinghoffer (John Adams) with the Radio Filharmonisch Orkest and conducted by the composer, The Protector in Written on skin under the composer Sir George Benjamin’s direction at Radio France’s Festival Présences and at the Vienna Konzerthaus, Death in Holst’s Sāvitri with Britten Sinfonia and Sir Mark Elder, and Second Brother in Kurt Weill’s Seven deadly sins on tour with the London Symphony Orchestra and Sir Simon Rattle.
