Latvian cellist Magdalena Ceple is the solo cellist of Kremerata Baltica under Gidon Kremer. She completed her Master’s degree in solo cello performance with Troels Svane at the Lübeck Academy of Music and has pursued Baroque studies with Kristin von der Goltz in Munich.
Recent career highlights include performing Robert Schumann’s Piano Trio No 1 with Sir András Schiff and violinist Maja Horvat at Kronberg Academy’s ‘Chamber Music Connects the World’ series, and recording This too shall pass by Raminta Šerkšnytė with Kremerata Baltica and Andrei Pushkarev. Magdalena also participated in performances of Schoenberg’s Verklärte Nacht with Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker and the ensemble Rosas, combining music and contemporary dance.
Her artistic journey spans collaborations, experimental programming and performances that blend tradition with bold innovation, marking her as one of the most dynamic cellists of her generation.
