Highlights of Prosseda’s concerts in recent years include performances at the Philharmonie in Berlin, the Gewandhaus in Leipzig, Wigmore Hall and the Royal Festival Hall in London, Teatro alla Scala in Milan, Teatro La Fenice in Venice, and Tchaikovsky Hall in Moscow. Prosseda has played as soloist with Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra, New Japan Philharmonic, Filarmonica della Scala, Orchestra di Santa Cecilia and the London Philharmonic Orchestra.
Born in Latina, Italy, in 1975, Prosseda studied at the Accademia Pianistica ‘Incontri col Maestro’ in Imola with Alexander Lonquich, Boris Petrushansky and Franco Scala, and at the International Piano Foundation in Cadenabbia with Dmitri Bashkirov, Leon Fleisher, William Grant Naboré, Charles Rosen, Karl Ulrich Schnabel and Fou Ts’ong.
On 13 September 2011 Roberto Prosseda made his debut on the pedal piano, giving the first modern performance of Gounod’s Concerto for pedal piano and orchestra. His pedal piano repertoire includes the original works by Schumann, Boëly and Alkan and new pieces written for him by Ennio Morricone, Michael Nyman, Cristian Carrara and other contemporary composers.
