The Ensemble records frequently for BBC radio and has taken part in many music programmes for TVS, Yorkshire Television and the BBC as well as appearing in documentary films on Elizabeth Maconchy and Sir Robert Mayer. In February 1996 the Ensemble was featured in a series of five programmes on the wind quintet for the BBC Radio 3 Music Machine programme. Besides concert performances, the Ensemble offers many special programmes for young audiences and undertakes coaching and masterclasses for students. The Albion have also been involved in a number of premieres including works by Elizabeth Maconchy, Wilfred Josephs and Jim Parker and there are plans for more commissions in the future. Members of the Ensemble hold principal positions with leading orchestras in Britain and senior teaching posts in British music colleges.
The Albion Ensemble has released recordings on its own label, including a number of popular arrangements written for them and subsequently published by Gordon Davies. They have recorded Mozart's Serenade for thirteen wind instruments for Hyperion Records and quintets for piano and wind by Mozart and Beethoven with pianist Vlado Perlemuter for Nimbus. The Hyperion recording was sponsored by the Wellcome Foundation and received the Spanish CD Award in 1990.
