Anna Sandström (soprano)
Anna Sandström studied Singing with Christopher Allan at the University of Newcastle, and teaching at the University of New England. She performs as a soloist and ensemble singer with Cantillation, Australian Brandenburg Orchestra, Pinchgut Opera, Australian Chamber Orchestra, The Muffat Collective, The Marais project, Australian Chamber Choir and Australian Baroque Brass. Living in the UK from 2008-12, Anna sang many roles with the Armonico Consort and was featured as a soloist in festivals including the Early Music Festival Brugge, Henley, Poole Lighthouse & Petworth festivals. Alongside her performance career, Anna is a passionate educator. Now living in Australia, she is a conductor with Sydney Childrens’s Choir and teaches singing and musicianship at St Mary’s Cathedral Sydney and Fort Street High School. Recent performance highlights include performing as a soloist and in ensemble with the Pinchgut Pheonix series, Australian Bach Akademie, and Hallelujah Junction. Anna also regularly tours Victoria, and NSW with Camerata Antica, an ensemble she co-founded in 2010 with cornettist, Matthew Manchester.
