Mark Kinkaid was born in 1965 and started playing piano at the age of six. He has performed various works with orchestra and has spent most of his time as a freelance accompanist, at the Royal College and Royal Academy of Music, Guildhall School of Music and the BBC Symphony Orchestra. He was also repetiteur for Opera South (Manon).

Mark has broadcast a duo recital on Classic FM with Lisa Friend and also gave a duo recital with James Dutton (flautist) in the Purcell Room as part of the Park Lane Group Recitals. Mark was also the official accompanist on the Torroella de Montgri Summer Course in 1992 and 1993. He has accompanied the Basingstoke Choral Society since 1976 and was appointed Assistant Musical Director in 1997. He was accompanist in Janáček Cunning Little Vixen in 2007 at Woodhouse in Surrey where he was also musical director in four performances of Humperdinck Hansel and Gretel in 2008. He is currently also accompanist for PegOpera.
