In 2010 he was appointed Assistant Director of Music at Birmingham Cathedral, playing for the first of several broadcasts in his first term there. He also appeared with the Royal Ballet Sinfonia, Ex Cathedra and the Birmingham Bach Choir. During this time he studied organ with Andrew Fletcher and singing with Matthew Venner.
A frequent recitalist, particularly in London and the West Midlands, he also enjoys continuo work, and is accompanist to the early music course NORVIS. An interest in jazz keeps his improvisational muscles flexed, finding more direct employment as part of a trio accompanying jazz Eucharists at St Paul’s Cathedral, sung by the choir Aurora Nova.
