Orchestral engagements include ORF Radio-Symphonieorchester Wien, the Belgian National Orchestra, Orchestre de chambre de Paris, Vancouver Symphony Orchestra, Dresdner Philharmonie, Den Norske Opera Orchestra, and Mozarteumorchester Salzburg with whom a live recording of Hans Rott’s Symphony No&nsbp;1 received an Echo Klassik award in October 2017.
Constantin joined the Saarländisches Staatstheater in 2002 as Kapellmeister, taking on the role of Music Director from 2006 to 2009 and conducting Intolleranza 1960 (Luigi Nono), La bohème, Don Giovanni, Die Zauberflöte, Das Rheingold, Lohengrin, Salome, Carmen, Don Carlos, La traviata and Kullervo (Aulis Sallinen), and the European premiere of The First Emperor by Tan Dun.
In 2009, Trinks was appointed Music Director at the Staatstheater Darmstadt where his productions have included a critically acclaimed Der Ring des Nibelungen, as well as Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg, Parsifal, Fidelio, Aida, and the premiere of Orff’s early work, Gisei, alongside De temporum fine comoedia.
Born in Karlsruhe, Constantin studied conducting at his home-town conservatory with Wolf-Dieter Hauschild, and piano with Günter Reinhold.
